Admitted in AL & FL
Mark P. Eiland is an estate planning attorney with more than 25 years of experience helping individuals and families navigate the transitions of life with clarity and confidence. He founded Heircraft Planning LLC, a trust and estate law firm serving families across Alabama and the Florida Gulf Coast.
Mark earned his undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Montevallo in 1990, followed by both his J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Alabama School of Law. He began his legal career as a litigator before transitioning to estate planning and trust administration in 2000. His time as a trust officer and manager of a regional bank trust department gives him a perspective that few estate planning attorneys bring to the table: an understanding of how plans actually work once they are put into motion.
That experience led him to build Heircraft Planning around a simple but important idea. Families deserve more than documents. They deserve guidance from someone who understands how those documents perform when it matters most.
Mark is licensed to practice in Alabama and Florida and is admitted to the United States Tax Court and all Federal District Courts in Alabama. He is an active member of the Mobile Estate Planning Council and the Northwest Florida Estate Planning Council. He serves on Board of Directors for the Real Property, Trust and Probate Section of the Alabama State Bar and is a past president of the Trust Section of the Alabama Bankers Association. He is also listed on the Alabama State Court Mediator Roster and is certified as a Circuit Court mediator in Florida. He has earned the designation of Accredited Estate Planner® by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils.
Outside of his practice, Mark is committed to his community. He volunteers with Junior Achievement of Mobile, Alabama Coastal Foundation and the South Alabama Volunteer Lawyers Program.
